Value Duets · The $6.99 question, 2026
Panera Value Duets: Are They Actually a Deal? (2026)
Seven set pairings, two price points, one question: is $6.99 for half a sandwich and a cup of soup really cheaper? We did the math, and the duet costs less than the soup alone. Both halves of every duet come from across the whole menu, where the full portions are priced.
A Panera Value Duet is a set pairing of a half sandwich or half salad with a cup of soup, priced at $6.99 or $8.99; the pairings are fixed. Every other site lists the pairings and stops. None divides the duet price by the protein, none compares a duet with buying the cup solo, and none puts Duets next to the $4.99 Mix & Match menu and You Pick Two. This page does all three. Duet prices and pairings are typical and vary by cafe. Soup and sandwich prices and nutrition are verified against our 9-city menu numbers and Panera’s official Nutrition Guide dated September 2, 2026. Half numbers are estimates because Panera does not publish nutrition for halves.

How to read this page: a green tag means verified in our menu numbers, checked September 30, 2026. A rust tag means typical: the figure comes from published cafe menus and deal reporting, it varies by cafe, and you should confirm it in the Panera app. A gold tag means estimated: a half portion worked out at 50% of the verified full portion. Nothing here invents a price for an item not in our menu numbers.
