About this guide: help deciding what to order at Panera
This site started with a simple frustration: standing in line at Panera, staring at 200 plus choices, with no quick way to tell what is actually worth ordering.
Most menu pages online just list items and prices. That does not help when you are choosing between a 580 calorie salad and a 1,010 calorie sandwich, or when you need high protein without blowing your budget. This guide was built to answer the question people actually have: what should I order? Every page leads with a decision, then shows the numbers behind it.
This is an independent guide. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Panera Bread. Panera Bread is a trademark of Panera, LLC. We built this because we order at Panera too, and we wanted the honest version of the menu: prices you can plan around, nutrition you can trust, and the tradeoffs nobody puts in bold.
What we stand for
Three promises on every page
These are the rules the whole site runs on. If a page breaks one of them, tell us and we will fix it.
Promise one
Decisions first, numbers second
Every category opens with a clear pick and the reason why: best protein for the money, lightest real meal, easiest on sodium. The tables and rankings are there to prove the pick, not to bury you in figures. If you only have 30 seconds, the first screen is enough.
Promise two
Numbers you can check
Prices shown here are averages across 9 US cafes collected in September 2026, so no single city skews the picture. Nutrition comes from Panera’s official Nutrition Guide effective September 2, 2026. When Panera changes a recipe or a price, the guide can lag: always confirm your final total in the Panera app before you order.
Promise three
Honest labels, always
Anything we had to estimate is marked as an estimate, right where you see it. Nothing is guessed and passed off as exact. Dietary guidance is always credited to its source and always carries a reminder to check Panera’s own allergen information and confirm in the app, because your cafe prepares your food, not this website.
In plain words
How the numbers were gathered
No tricks here. This is exactly what happens before a price or a calorie count reaches your screen.
1
Prices from real cafes, averaged
We collect menu prices from cafes in different parts of the country and average them across 9 US locations. The priciest big city markets are left out of the average so the numbers reflect what most people pay. Your cafe can still charge more or less: treat every price here as a planning figure, not a promise.
2
Nutrition from Panera’s own guide
Calories, protein, sodium, and the rest come from the Nutrition Guide Panera itself publishes, effective September 2, 2026. If Panera does not publish a figure for something, we either leave it blank or mark a careful estimate clearly. We never fill a gap quietly.
3
Checked again before each refresh
Menus change with the seasons. Before each update we compare what is on this site against what Panera currently lists, drop anything that has been discontinued, and flag anything new. The checked date sits in the footer of every page so you always know how fresh the numbers are.
One last thing
Corrections are welcome here
Seen a price that has changed at your cafe, a nutrition figure that no longer matches, or a link that goes nowhere? Corrections keep this guide honest. Send it through the contact page with the item name and what you saw, and we will check it and update the page.
